Career Pathway Tracks
Medical Assistant:
Students engage in theory and practicum designed to develop skills to provide administrative and direct patient care support in health care settings. Theoretical studies include anatomy and physiology, HIPPA compliance, basics of charting, and effective communication and patient relations skills. Practical skills include CPR and first aid, assessment of basic vital signs, and patient support. By their senior year, students will pursue opportunities to experience the clinical setting with local Muslim physicians. This specialized track will put graduates in a good position to work in clinics or pursue further study at the associates or higher level for home health care, nursing, or premedical programs, perhaps even going on to study at various medical tracks at universities or medical schools.
Early Childhood Education:
Students engage in theory and practicum* designed to develop skills to meet the needs of newborn to pre-K students of diverse backgrounds. Students will take TECE 1 and 2 to qualify as early childhood education providers. In practicum, they will develop lesson plans that stimulate the youngest learners. Assessment of children through observations, interactions and other performance measures will be explored. Students will gain real life experience through practicum working in live preschool classrooms in the Tarbiyah daycare. This specialized track will put graduates in a good position to work in daycare or preschool settings or to go on to pursue bachelors or higher qualifications in early childhood education. (*Open to residents of Delaware only.)

They will complete projects such as data collection and management spreadsheets with graphs and charts, building their own websites, apps, games, and physical computing devices. Graduates will be well equipped to use their skills in a variety of work settings and will have a head start for college or university level computer science degree programs.
